All new pools are required
to have two main drains (connected together) approx 3' apart. This is
the best way to avoid suction entrapment. We urge you to consider having
an additional main drain installed. (This is easily accomplished during
a re-plaster job.) Average cost seems to be around $ 1,500.00 to have
this done.
FEATURES
1. The Anti-Hair Snare PLUS is the only available main drain cover with
an anti-hair entanglement design. It works automatically on a self
shedding principle when the bather raises his or her head.
2. The hi-b step design of the fingers on the Anti-Hair Snare PIu5TM
prevents children from vacuum sealing the drain system with their
buttocks. This precludes child evisceration.
3. The dome combined with the hi-b step design of the Anti-Hair Snare
Plus minimizes the probability of an adult forming a vacuum seal over
the drain thereby almost completely eliminating the hazard of body
entrapment. The anti-vacuum character of the Anti-Hair Snare Plus is
more effective than any of the current anti-vortex drain covers.
4. The Anti-Hair Snare Plus is so robust it will support a load of over
2,000 lbs.
5. The openings in the Anti-Hair Snare Plus will reject the insertion of
an 8mm rod. Based on Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) studies, this
will preclude the passage of children’s fingers and will keep pool toys
from passing through the grating
6. The universal fastening design of the Anti-Hair Snare Plus allows it
to be retrofitted onto almost every main drain including those made by
Hayward, Pentair, Waterway, Purex-Triton, American Products and Jacuzzi.
7. The Anti-Hair Snare Plus is UV and chlorine resistant. It is also
drinking water safe.
8. The Anti-Hair Snare Plus is child-resistant. The hi-b step design is
uncomfortable to sit or stand on; the under 8mm openings prevent an
interference grip.
9. A manual backup procedure may be used in unusual circumstances to
remove hair from the Anti-Hair Snare PIu5TM. The fingers in the drain
cover provide an escape geometry similar to a comb. Strands of hair
disengage from the fingers when moved into the central hole in the drain
cover.
